CFR CERTIFIED FITNESS PROFESSIONALS

CFR Training Program – a progressive methodology designed to address three vital elements: FLEXIBILITY, CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE, and STRENGTH. Additionally, it incorporates MOBILITY, a blend of both strength and flexibility. Recognizing the prevalent sedentary nature of the modern intelligent individual’s lifestyle, we have identified the core issue that affects our generation – POSTURE. Our immediate priorities are three key objectives: ENHANCE POSTURE ALIGNMENT, OPTIMISE MOVEMENT, and ADVANCE STRENGTH TRAINING.

The CORRECTIVE, FUNCTIONAL, and RESISTANCE (CFR) sequence appears to provide a solution to issues present in various training methodologies throughout history.

CORRECTIVE -In the CORRECTIVE phase, the focus is on identifying tight and weak muscle components affecting posture, often the root causes of posture deviations. Once identified, a tailored CORRECTIVE PROGRAM is designed to release and lengthen tight muscles while activating weaker ones.

FUNCTIONAL – Moving on to FUNCTIONAL, the second step, the aim is to enhance movement functionality. This involves synchronised postures merged with precise exercise motions. The ten fundamental movement types – including squatting, bending, lunging, and more – collectively form the basis of exercise. The FUNCTIONAL program prioritises movement integration and initiation, encompassing essential cardiovascular performance aspects.

RESISTANCE- Resistance, the final yet pivotal aspect of CFR, centres around STRENGTH TRAINING as the cornerstone of fitness. It underscores the importance of augmenting foundational strength through the application of the progressive overload principle. However, achieving this requires a balanced approach to training variables such as INTENSITY, FREQUENCY, and DURATION.

Brief description of the workshops:

  1. Training Language For Corrective Exercise: During this phase, we impart fundamental exercise physiology knowledge coupled with functional anatomy to provide a comprehensive grasp of Human Movement Science to our students. This encompasses steps for conducting a Static Posture Assessment, unravelling the triggers behind significant postural anomalies such as Anterior Pelvic Tilt and Upper Cross Syndrome. This in-depth insight enables students to connect overactive and underactive muscles with their corresponding functional anatomical features. Moreover, we conduct practical demonstrations of techniques like Self-Myofascial Release (SMR), stretching, and muscle activation for diverse muscle groups. Additionally, we emphasise the dos and don’ts pertinent to each training method and its variables, including Sets, Reps, Rest, Tempo, and more. Notably, this module serves as a robust foundation for those aspiring to become NASM Certified Personal Trainers (CPT) and Corrective Exercise Specialists (CES)
  2. Corrective Approach For Functional Training: Corrective Approach to Functional Training: This module delves into the fundamental principles of biomechanics and its intricate relationship with human movement, exploring the plane of actions. The Assessment section comprehensively covers movement evaluations such as Overhead Squat (OHS), cardiovascular assessment, and strength endurance assessment. In the practical sessions, participants engage in prime movements like Squat, Hinge, Push, Pull, Lunge, and Twist, mastering precise forms across diverse planes of action. Integrated prime movements and dynamic power exercises are also introduced. Utilising training accessories like gym balls, resistance bands, suspension straps, and kettlebells, participants acquire hands-on experience. The process-oriented session empowers them with the application of training variables, along with the apt amalgamation of training methods. This module extends beyond and also serves as a strong foundation for those pursuing aspirations as NASM Certified Personal Trainers (CPT) and Performance Enhancement Specialists (PES).
  3. Corrective Approach For Resistance Training: This segment delves into the foundational aspects of kinesiology and its intricate correlation with biomechanics, expounding on their role in the application of strength training. In the Assessment phase, participants are guided through various strength assessment methods, including the calculation of 1RM (one-repetition maximum). The practice segment delves into diverse classifications of strength training exercises, encompassing Isolation and Combination Movements, Push-Pull Groupings, and Position of Flexion. Practical demonstrations and exercise practice enrich this segment. The Process-oriented session delves extensively into various training principles, such as Pyramiding, Supersetting, Trisetting, Circuit Training, Drop Sets, and Rest-Pause Techniques. These principles are systematically applied to achieve distinct resistance training goals, including strength, hypertrophy, and strength endurance. This module also establishes a strong foundation for those pursuing aspirations as NASM Certified Personal Trainers (CPT) and Physique and Bodybuilding Coaches.
  4. Assessment & Program Design:  This is a revision of all workshops, integrating the three training methods into one comprehensive exercise program to optimise posture, movement, and strength.

CFR-PRO- Corrective Functional Resistance Training- Professional The course is delivered  of 6 practical workshop sessions. A successful completion creates eligibility to become a Personal Trainer. The three forked goal of this certification is to make you understand a) the principles of corrective exercises in rehab and prehab. b)  functional exercise to improve day to activities and sporting functionalities. c) Resistance exercise to improve foundation strength.

Equip yourselves with deep knowledge of each training principle. Learn the proper assessment process. Design a holistic program that will help your clients achieve their goals, with visible results, and with much reduced chances of fatigue/injury. Get certified in CFR and first aid so your clients can trust you wholly.

The practical sessions help in using various functional equipment & training accessories.
